The Breakers (Watercolor 30"X40")

I smell the ocean; I feel the breeze; I see the birds; I hear the music!

Just like a breaker surging forth, my journey begins with the music of the waves. The harmony stays deep within my heart and swells as does the surf.

Watching and listening to Mr. Eric Dunan play the trumpet gave me the incentive to interpret music into a two dimensional format. The sounds remained in my mind - his tones made my mind travel to different places. I created the experience of the musical ebbs.

With the collaboration with Mr.Dunan, I set up my cameras and prepared to take some photographs on a very hot and sunny day. From these photos, I portrayed Mr. Dunan in paint.

Mr. Dunan plays his trumpet passionately and the tones flow forth, quietly, then in staccato, again returning to calm. This concept changed my path of thoughts, encouraging me to notice the difference between quiet and strong, I captured the temperament of the musician, blissfully overwhelmed by his musical passion.

I hope you enjoy my interpretation of Mr. Dunan's music and feel the waves of passion as I did.
